First Person Blackjack – How the Game Works and Pays Out

First Person Blackjack follows the same familiar rules as classic casino blackjack. Aces count as 1 or 11, numbered cards are face value, and face cards count as 10. The dealer deals two cards to each of your hands and two to themselves (one face-up and one face-down). 

The dealer stands on all 17s (hard or soft), and if your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer’s without going over, you win. A natural blackjack (Ace plus 10-value card) pays 3:2, and insurance (if the dealer shows an Ace) pays 2:1. Ties result in a push (you get your bet back). These standard rules make the game easy to learn for anyone who’s played blackjack before.

Standard Blackjack Rules

Every round, you play against the dealer with the goal of reaching 21 or beating the dealer’s hand. Card values are traditional: 2–10 equal their face value, J/Q/K are worth 10, and Aces can be 1 or 11.

If your first two cards total 21 (a blackjack), you earn a 3:2 payout (for example, a $10 bet wins $15) unless the dealer also has a blackjack. If the dealer’s face-up card is an Ace, you may take insurance (usually up to half your original bet) in case the dealer has blackjack; insurance pays 2:1. 

The dealer plays last and will hit until reaching at least 17. If your hand exceeds 21, it busts and loses immediately. A final tie (push) simply returns your stake without a win or loss.

Betting Structure and Multi-Hand Play

Before each hand, you choose a chip value and place bets on any number of up to five betting spots (hands). You could bet on all five hands or fewer, depending on your strategy. 

There’s no time pressure, so you can take your time placing chips. Only after placing the main bets can you opt into side bets. Once you click “Deal,” each hand is dealt cards. You then play each hand independently — choosing to hit, stand, double down, or split. 

Doubling down is allowed on any hand (except after splitting), and you can split any pair once, except that splitting Aces gives one extra card per Ace. 

Splitting or doubling on one hand doesn’t affect the others, so you manage each hand’s moves separately. This five-hand option is a key feature that lets aggressive players maximize action or cover more betting spots in one round.

Side Bets and Payouts

First Person Blackjack offers two popular optional side bets: Perfect Pairs and 21+3. In Perfect Pairs, you bet on your first two cards forming a pair. Payouts for this side bet depend on the pair’s quality: a mixed pair (same value but different color) pays 6:1, a colored pair (same color, different suit) pays 12:1, and a perfect pair (identical cards) pays 25:1. 

The 21+3 side bet combines your first two cards with the dealer’s face-up card to make a 3-card poker hand. Payouts scale with the poker hand strength: for example, a flush is 5:1, a straight 10:1, three of a kind 30:1, a straight flush 40:1, and suited three-of-a-kind (“suited trips”) 100:1. 

These side bets have higher house edges, so while they can yield big wins, they should be played sparingly. The main blackjack game itself pays 1:1 on normal wins, 3:2 on blackjacks, and 2:1 on insurance, following standard odds.
